Teramo Cathedral

Piazza Orsini, 64100, Teramo (TE) Average tour time: 30 minuti Start navigator

“Teramo cathedral is one of the most unique, composite and yet forthright works ever produced by Italian art.” (Mario Pomilio, journalist and writer). The cathedral, or rather the basilica-cathedral, is in the historic centre of Teramo and was built by order of Bishop Guido II, in 1158, to house the relics of Saint Berardo. The art treasures found here include the exquisite altarpiece, a masterwork by Maestro Nicola da Guardiagrele. The cathedral also boasts a pipe organ, solemnly dedicated to Saint Gabriel.
